خلال قرون شقّت قوافل حج المسلمين طريقها عبر العراق نحو مكّة، موطن ولادة الإسلام، بالإضافة إلى المدن المحليّة المقدّسة كالنجف و كربلاء. و هنا تظهر هذه المخطوطة العائدة للقرن الثالث عشر الميلادي مظاهر الفرح و الإحتفال لهذه الرحلات المشتركة المهمّة

This 13th-century manuscript image of a pilgrim caravan conveys the excitement and celebration of such important communal journeys
